default No option except to introduce NSQF from 9 to 12

Dear friends,

A Project Approval Board (PAB) meeting was held on 18th February 2016 at New Delhi. I wish to point out here the relevant part of the minutes of this meeting pointing to Vocational Education
“Item No 3.1.3 Vocational Education: The state has not taken up the scheme of Vocational Education under the NSQF framework. The Additional Chief Secretary stated vocational courses are available at senior secondary level in the state
Secretary (SE&L) stated that the state should strive to provide vocational education courses to 9th to 10th class students so that they may get a feel of career they may consider for opting in higher classes.
Secretary (SE&L) also observed that the state is presently having an education pattern of 7+3 years which is not as per the national norms, and should strive to change it to universal 8+2 system over a period of next 3 years.”

The minutes of the meeting clearly states that with in 3 years from February 2016, that is with in February 2019, all our schools should have to be NSQF compliant. So there is no option except to introduce NSQF from 9 to 12 classes. Further Kerala is the only state in India which is still to introduce NSQF. By now itself many central government vacancies are notified with NSQF level 4 qualification.

If we still fight against NSQF, we can conclude the selfish motives of the teaching staff for cheating the students.

SOON to continue NSQF discussion with much more encouraging topics
