Hello friends

The provisional answer key for JRF and NET December 2012 has been published in UGC website. Though it is provisional and may be corrected later, still the % of the difference in provisional and final will be very less. Thus I think this is the time to calculate our possibilities to be declared as passed NET

You know for december UGC has declared the criteria as follows
Category PaperI PaperII Paper III

The above said minimum earned candidates are considered for result. They will be arranged in decreasing order of aggregate marks and then top 15% will be declared as NET cleared. The JRF winners are also selected from the NET winners.This will be for subjectwise and categorywise

So here is the statistics required whether you can clear or not. The calculation is approximate. The cut off can only be predicted if more than 10% sample is available. So please provide your score to predict the cutoff

The data here is based on the reply to an RTI given by UGC on June cut off. It was declared that 7% was declared as passed in June and this helped in approximate calculation of total number of candidates appered in june (passed X 100 Divided by 7- for correction in tie marks it is assumed as average 9%). Then a 22% increase is observed in december in total number of applicants and the same is approximately for every subject. Then in general category 45% is assumed to earn minimum and 15% of the same is taken. For others 50% is assumed % of those who acquires minimum.

In normal case when compared with June you may clear NET. Further analysis need more data sample. I am collecting the marks from different candidates of various subjects but need the the center code which is a factor (weight age) to make statistical analysis more accurate

@prabha- All the best. you have 224 which is 64% aggregate. 65% was cutoff for june 2012. It all depends on tie marks. If a considerable tie is in the end part it will lead the result to top 20% from top 15% and if tie is in the middle it will restrict the result within 15%

In the above models suppose 100 candidates wrote exam in both subjects and winner will be the top 15%. In subject while taking top 15 the cut off is 65% and should have select candidates upto 19 (19% of total) on behalf of the tie to end part. While dealing with large nos there is not so significant difference in percentage but 2% increase is visible in June. On the other subject 2 the tie marks are concentrated in middle and so restrict only to top 15%

Mine aggregate is 266 and if UGC corrects some of the answers then it will be 270or272...what's my chances ??

I think u may got 232 marks in total. It may be the edge of cut off. Have a good chance. If some question which you made wrong is deleted, the % will be more

According to me In management paper 2 answer of following question are wrong in provisional answer key issued by ugc net  14-c,15-c, 16-c,30-b,31-c,38-d,46-a.It should be 14-b,15-d, 16-d,30-d,31-a,38-c,46-d. lly in paper 3, 60,70,74 has the wrong answer. Any one please let me know if i am wrong?? How it will affect final score.

Fortunes can be changed totally by wrong answers if it is taken as right in final answer key. If it is 7 atleast 350 ranks or position will be effected. Means one who rightly in 700th position may occupy
350th position or vice versa

what should be the % score to fall in 15% criteria? In a article i read it will be b/w 78 to 82 percent. Any info on this.
